Well it was nice whilst it lasted! I’m sitting here listening to the rain beating down on the window pane and its a far cry form last weeks glorious heatwave where the windows were wide open.
So I am retreating back into my wardrobe and digging out the knitwear and coats. The trusty trench coat will be making an appearance again it looks like.
Did you know? The trench coat was developed as an alternative to the heavy serge greatcoats worn by British and French soldiers in the First World War. … Thomas Burberry invented gabardine fabric in 1879 and submitted a design for an Army officer’s raincoat to the United Kingdom War Office in 1901. There you go a piece of history for you this fine Sunday morning.
So with that I have done a round up of the best trench coats from high street to designer to buy right now of this transitional staple. As usual I have a variety of coats at various prices to suit your budget. I will say the Burberry Trench Coat option is always an investment piece and a true classic. I’ve never regretted buying mine and they will last you for years and years, so definitely worth the extra money if you wish to spend it.
However there are some fabulous coats out there my favourite one being by Boden with the union jack lining and its such a good price too. So whatever your style and preference you will find the right one for you.
Keeping everything crossed for less rain and more sun.
